We have now been home for four months. The growth in both of my girls over the past few months has been nothing short of amazing. I am so beyond proud of both of them. They are special souls sent straight from heaven. It gives me such a warm feeling watching their relationship develop. They have a special bond that will last a life time. My heart just melts when JT runs over to S for the sole purpose of giving her a kiss. The other day in the car JT was just not happy. Tired, hot, and hungry she was crying and nothing I did seemed to help. Then S did the simpilest of gestures. She reached over and held little J's hand, the crying stopped for JT anyway. Me on the other hand, had tears streaming down my cheeks after watching this. It's the little things. Little JT joined us in March at 14 months old. She could not walk, had poor muscle control, and very little speech and I was very concerned about her SN's. She is now running, climbing, talking, and loving life! Her SN's do not define her. It was a long road to bring her home. At times, not even my SW thought this was going to work. I had many obstacles placed in front of me, more than the normal ones that everyone adopting a child faces. But we overcame, because she was meant to be with us. None of us gave up, not for a second. S will be going into 1st grade in the Fall. Unbelievable, just last year I was crying watching my baby girl walk into the school on her 1st day of Kindergarten. Emotions were running high. All the questions I had, Would she be OK? Will she make friends? Will she be sad? Will she be comforted if she needs it? This year when I see her walk into 1st grade, I know I will be sad that she is growing so fast but it will be a different emotion. This time, I know she will be OK. I know she will make friends. I know she will be just fine. She is a intelligent, kind hearted, creative, self sufficient little girl. She will do well at whatever it is she decides to do in life! It is the growing up part I have a hard time with :) What photo's to post, there are so many! Until next time here are a few of my recent favorites.
